Since 1990, the Society has slowly undergone a regionalisation programme throughout the UK, aimed at encouraging the involvement of members generally. We have not lost any of our traditional values but rather we have aimed at making them relevant throughout the whole country. At the same time we hope we have maintained relevance for members outside the UK.

The Kent & East Sussex Group was the first to be incorporated under the Chairmanship of the now late Bob Carvill who negotiated the partnership between the Society and the Godinton House Preservation Trust. It is in their walled garden where the Group maintains what is effetively a national collection of named cultivars of delphiniums.

It is a small team of members who work with the four Trust gardeners and there is anually a week in June when the Trust holds a Delphinium Festival, at the start of which is an Open Day for members.

The Group is providing an important service for the Society and we invite members, who are able to give them support, to get in touch with the Chairman as soon as possible. We invite delphinium growers generally to give support by joining the Society. If you can spare a little time annually to give practical help then you will learn more about delphinium growing than any text book can provide.
